Sweatshirt or hoodie
A sweatshirt is the crewneck: the same heavy knit as a hoodie, without the hood or the front pocket. That keeps the neckline clean for a chest print and lets it sit under a coat or over a collared shirt, which a hoodie does less well.
Fleece or french terry
Both start as loops knitted on the inside of the fabric. Fleece brushes those loops into a soft, warm nap; french terry leaves them as they are, so it is lighter, breathes better and suits the in-between seasons. Heavier sweatshirts hold a structured, boxy shape, while lighter ones fall closer to the body.
Details that change it
Raglan sleeves run the seam up to the collar and give an athletic look; set-in sleeves look neater. Ribbed cuffs and hem decide whether it blouses at the waist or hangs straight. When you design your own, those choices sit alongside the print, embroidery or dye, and it is made to order from the same base the creators use.
